The Sports Network did a story on the best highlights of each week in the season.
Take a look at week 13. Pretty good choice, but how about these as well...
- Western knocks Northern Iowa out of a first round bye (and eventually losing at home to Lehigh) while qualifying for the playoffs following the regular season finale win. That also capped off an undefeated home record.
- Matt Barr throwing for a program record 6 touchdowns and rushing for another in demolishing Illinois State.
- Kyle Glazier recorded a FCS high 25 tackles at Missouri State.
- Lito Senatus and Terriun Crump twice in the year each accounted for 100 receiving yards in a game.
- Defeating Valparaiso to end the 10-game losing streak.
- Barr to Senatus in the final minutes to eventually defeat Youngstown State.
Anyway, those are just some of my highlights. Email me your thoughts.
I just have to say, leaving at 7 am then arriving in Cedar City, Utah, about 12:30 am central makes for a long day of travel. The guys had a good workout at UNLV in preparation for the game at the Thunderbirds on Thursday night.
You gotta feel for the men's team. This trip Western brought the nine remaining healthy players. Nine guys, and two are limited as well. One thing is for certain, this team is fighting hard.

Great Week for Leatherneck Football
What a week for Leatherneck Football! Head coach Mark Hendrickson, quarterback Matt Barr and linebacker Kyle Glazier pull the trifecta of runner-ups for national awards.
Hendrickson made it close in the Eddie Robinson 'Coach of the Year' Award voting. Western's coach finished three spots ahead of the Missouri Valley Football Conference 'Coach of the Year' winner.
Glazier tied for second in the Buck Buchanan Award, the best showing since Ed Hartwell won the award in 2000.
Barr matched the highest Leatherneck finish in the Walter Payton Award as Hall of Fame member Aaron Stecker was runner-up in 1997. He did finish with the highest Payton total for a Leatherneck quarterback.
The Sports Network did a great job putting on the banquet in Frisco (Matt Barr picture courtesy of Sports Network), and the Fatheads of the three Payton finalists looked great. Western got one for our use too of Matt.
Just today Lito Senatus was selected as only one of three wide receivers honored by College Football Performance Award as an Elite WR. Another great honor.
Before you know it signing day will be here, ushering in a new era of Leathernecks. It's safe to say they have big shoes to fill.
